General Sessions

Purdue University Site-Specific Showcase
The Purdue University Site-Specific Management Showcase will include a variety of exhibits and reports from site-specific research and education programs, remote sensing and related studies currently underway at Purdue University.

Nutrient Management Planning Workshop
Nutrient management planning is a hot topic and will be getting even hotter.   Whether you're a livestock or crop producer, a consultant, or a dealer, you'll find this workshop critical to your business.  Scott Murrell, Northcentral Director, PPI, will start the program by showing the importance of being pro-active.  The workshop will give you the opportunity to gain a real perspective on the nutrient management issue.   Hear about NRCS nutrient policy first hand.  Discover the phosphorus and nitrogen indices and how they can improve your management.  Learn how to use soil survey information to create better plans.  Understand what a soil test means for managing risk.  Figure out where best to put that first load of manure.  Delve into accounting for field variability.  Pick the brain of one of the nation's top agronomists, Lance Murrell, who has a long history of practical approaches to nutrient management, both site-specific and traditional.

Creating Business Opportunities with Technology and Information
An advisory group of leaders in agribusiness interests will discuss service business considerations for retailers, consultants and others, during this program track being organized under the leadership of Ron Olson, Royster-Clark, Inc. The CyberDealership Workshop returns with a fresh look at putting the pieces together into a business plan.

Site-Specific Management Guidelines Live
New technology continues to extend the capabilities of data collection and field operations equipment. The proceedings of the conference includes a new publication being developed that targets specific applied questions related to those new technologies.   University and industry experts who authored these guides will present the guidelines.  Sessions will discuss crop, soil, and pest management, on-farm research, remote sensing, yield monitors, and defining management zones.

Data Analysis
Data Analysis will feature the interpretation and analysis of data collected through site-specific research projects and the formation of databases for the future.

Communications Showcase
The Communications Showcase will look at information technology, particularly Internet technology, and its impact on agriculture.   Featured in this track will be the Cyberfarm Demonstration.  This presentation will give participants a first-hand look at the latest capabilities in Internet technology via an online tour of Agronomic, Learning, Marketing and E-Commerce resources available today.  Complementing this comprehensive demonstration will be specific sessions addressing the impact Internet technology will have on the agriculture industry.   Leading these sessions will be "Future Web," a thought-provoking look at the scope and  structure of agriculture in the next century.  The remaining sessions will offer perspectives from ag organizations, land-grant universities, and farm businesses on how much information, services, and business  processes will change through technology developments.  Among the guest speakers will be Steve Sonka, National Soybean Research Laboratory, and Marc Vanacht, AG Business Consultants.

Vendor Sessions
InfoAg99 offers a setting for conference exhibitors to present a more comprehensive message during "vendor sessions."   These are normally scheduled for one or two-hour time slots in classroom-like settings.  Conference participants with interest in new product information or hearing more about an exhibitor's services can choose to attend.
